CHARACTER INFO

Name: Chihiro Fujisaki

Source: Dangan Ronpa

Canon point: After the first school trial, but before the letters are distributed that threaten to reveal students' secrets. She has sequestered herself in the public bath's locker room to do some coding after being yelled at by a classmate.

Gender: ??? (Chihiro's gender is an issue in the game itself and the surrounding fanon . As she presents female until specifically pressed and coerced into doing otherwise, I'll be playing her as presenting female with relevant pronouns. )

Age: believes she is 17 (19 in actuality)

Colour: #96BC5F

Chumhandle: alteredEgo

History: Chihiro Fujisaki is a teenage programming prodigy. Well-versed in all manner of computing wizardry -- and cute as a button, to boot -- she gained herself an army of dedicated fans, garnered a tonne of media attention, and ultimately found herself selected for inclusion in Hope's Peak Academy due to her flair for software and technology. When she entered Hope's Peak, she and her classmates were imprisoned in the school by a murderous bear plush and forced to participate in a Battle Royale-challenge where the only hope of escape from the school is to 'graduate'. Graduate, in this case, meaning to murder a fellow classmate and hide all the evidence.

At this point in the canon, Chihiro is feeling pretty low about her lack of contribution to the team escape efforts! Like many sad children, she is spending her time secretly adding data to her pet AI project that she keeps stored in the locker room.

Personality: Chihiro is talented at programming, to the extent that she invented Siri before Siri was a thing and then proceeded to program a semi-sentient version of herself into her own laptop. She is adept with mathematics, hacking and general information-gathering, although her lack of faith in her own capabilities hinders her.

She has an intense hang-up about her own lack of physical strength, as she was very ill and frail growing up and unable to play outside with other children. This complex is so deeply ingrained that it hinders her interpersonal abilities and affects her overall manner, meaning that she is extraordinarily timid and soft-spoken.

Chihiro is also kind and generous to a level that doesn't always make a lot of sense. In one instance she let a mosquito feed off of her until it was satisfied, under the rationale that 'it drank so much that it must have been hungry, so I felt really sorry for it.'

Abilities & physical limitations:
Chihiro's abilities are localised to the computer. She is an expert at hacking and extracting information; she can create technological diversions and disable mechanical devices attached to a network. But she is very physically weak, incapable of any effective attacks. She would probably lose a fight against a kitten.

Appearance:

Strife Specibus: toolsetKind (a small boxed toolset that contains a pair of pliers, a small hammer and a screwdriver. They are still wrapped and unopened when placed in the strife specibus, making them spectacularly useless as a weapon.)

Prototyping: A disc containing Chihiro's 'AlterEgo' software, which is an information programme capable of replicating the personality and mannerisms of any user that inputs data. The sprite it uses resembles Chihiro herself.

Title: Trace of Code

In-game abilities: Traces are reliant on other players. They often can't perform attacks on their own but can 'borrow' an attack from others, or alternately increase the effectiveness of an ally's attack. Code is all about futzing with the game's variables; no gamebreaking capabilities, but a skilled player can repurpose some aspects of the game to suit their immediate needs .

Chihiro's abilities are well-suited to assisting other players offensively and protecting herself defensively. Due to an understanding of programming she has a boosted knowledge of her fellow players' attacks and how they are generated by the game - she can improve their effectiveness from the sidelines. When she grows stronger she can also 'draw herself in' to certain sections of code which would allow her to cloak herself from view, though this might malfunction considering the glitched nature of the game.

Planet: The Land of Screens and Sinew blots out its own sky with a thick network of wire cables, all linked to an aerial station that powers a million plasma widescreen televisions. These screens show a dedicated stream of the constant, gruelling sports events being held across the planet. This is where the planet's consorts -- fuzzy bipedal bottleflies -- compete for athletic supremacy so that they might challenge and defeat the planet's denizen, Cratus, who sits at the core of the network in the sky.

RP sample:

"Aaaah, this is hopeless."

With her small body curled over her laptop and fiercely coloured cheeks, Chihiro doesn't imagine she looks anything more than hopeless herself. And she supposes that her clunky, slow-moving computer isn't really to blame for this entire sorry predicament. She should be grateful just that she was able to get it working!

But still, no accessible local networks, definitely no global ones, and a completely blank data cache... There is very little to work with. Good thing that she keeps most of her work on discs, she thinks as she cards through her satchel for an unlabelled jewel case. Instead, her fingers graze across something else. A manila envelope? Two?

She lifts it up to her face to make sure, and yeah, it's a couple of manila envelopes. Stamped with some strange hypotrochoid emblem that looks as though it might belong on a game cartridge. Biting her lip, she looks over her shoulder at the door - no sound from beyond it at all. She could be completely alone on this floor for all the sound she can hear outside. Well, then.

Good a time as any to try these strange discs out.
